…so much for a comeback. We can now add Steve ‘Bullit’ McQueen to the list of those taken before their time. Maybe he shouldn’t have gone neck and neck with the undead.
Let’s continue the Terminals pun tradition. Puns ahoy!
Wait…how is that even POSSIBLE with Bullit’s powers? Zombie should never have been able to break the skin, let alone do what he did so casually. that makes NO freaking sense.
for that matter, when did bee-girl get the power of FLIGHT, as she seemed to display in the last panel to feature her? her only power was suppsoed to be summoning/controlling the bugs.
@chaotik74 – Bullit’s power isn’t always “on”, he has to control it. A surprise attack from Zombie is totally reasonable. Also, we have no idea what Cross did to him, nor do we know that the antidote entailed. And Katawa nailed it, Swarm is being lifted and supported by the bees.
Yeah, the story established early on that Bullit was susceptible to sucker-punches (or bites) as he has to focus on turning his powers “on”. Makes sense to me!
It also might be a good time to point out that Bullit’s kind of stupid. He picked a fight with a supercharged Superman. I don’t think he’s got the kind of forethought to keep his powers on…
he was SO stupid he picked a fight with a guy with superpowers and forgot to turn his on.
or notice the one-legged zombie hopping up behind him.
sorry, i realize this is a superhero comic and all, but i call bulls***on the writing here. someone is wanting to wrap things up so badly they aren’t thinking about the plot anymore. or they switched writers.
and don’t even get me started on “she’s being lifted by bees”
“sorry, i realize this is a superhero comic and all, but i call bulls***on the writing here. someone is wanting to wrap things up so badly they aren’t thinking about the plot anymore. or they switched writers.”
Thanks! I appreciate your kind thoughts. I can assure you, wrapping this series up is the last thing I’m looking forward too. Terminals has never been about powers. Terminals isn’t a ‘superhero comic’. Bullit is incredibly stupid, as the previous five issues has shown. The entire team is also reckless and inexperienced with their powers. No surprise there. So is it reasonable, what’s written on the page? I think so. Is it entertaining? It is to me. Did I write it how I saw fit? Sure did. Did I come up with six issues of an original comic book series out of thin air? I may have, yes.
I’m absolutely all for discussion and critique, but please don’t use my comic and my forum as a place to poo-poo on my ‘storefront’ with superfluous criticism. How on earth can you enjoy any fiction? Yes, I realize that Bullit has peripheral vision. It’s called… drumroll… a leap of faith. It’s fun. It’s a twist. It’s action. This page is awesome, and I’m proud of it, I’m proud of the artwork, I’m proud of every single page before it, and tons of people are loving it.
As for my logic, as it pertains to Swarms assisted flight, let me point out one very important factor here, that is the fulcrum for my counter-argument. Ahem. THIS IS A COMIC BOOK WITH A TALKING BEAR, A GHOST, A ZOMBIE, AND A WOLFMAN. A 130lb girl being lifted by thousands of nano-controlled bees is probably the easiest pill to swallow at this point.
The Terminals train is chugging along full steam and it’s a big, fun party in the caboose. You’re either in or you’re out, folks. Party on.
I don’t doubt that there are a great many people enjoying the comic. the great mant puns that preceded my post is proof of that, if nothing else is. As for my “superfluous” critisism, i find it interesting that your counterargument is to first state that Terminals has never been about powers and is not a superhero comic…and then to defend your depiction of superpowers IN THE COMIC by citing it’s a comic with a talking bear, zombie, ghost, etc. That’s a bit of an oxymoron there, isn’t it? And who knows? maybe you’ll come up with an actual reason later on for Swarm developing NEW superpowers spontaneously, or Bullit’s cutting out so abrubtly. Maybe you had it planned all along. I look forward to finding out whether or not that’s the case. However, i draw your atention to the definition of the word “forum”-A meeting or medium where ideas and views on a particular issue can be exchanged. If you don’t want to hear people’s views, don’t have one. many webcomic artists did away with thiers rather than pay attention to dissenting opinions.
I can certainly appreciate discussion and opinion, sure. That’s why I chose not to delete your comments. What I do take exception to, is having my writing called ‘bullshit’. There’s a certain respect that should be given and taken; I felt that it wasn’t given. But you’ve been reading for a while and have commented many times, which I do appreciate and thank you for, and you posed an interesting set of questions. But I’ve addressed those questions pretty bluntly, and don’t see how I could make my arguments any clearer.
That being said, as far as this being a forum, you’re right and you’re wrong. I’m under absolutely no obligation to entertain or allow any comments I don’t want to.
At the end of the day, I’m just thankful that anyone is reading our little series. Seriously, thank you. Even if opinions differ and there is criticism, thank you – quite genuinely – for taking the time to read, think about it, and express your thoughts.
Holy Hannah. First of all, screw you Ryan Ferrier for providing weeks of free entertainment, and pouring out your sweat and blood purely for the love of your craft. Asshole.
Second, is it a stretch of the imagination that swarm can be lifted by bees she secretes from every orifice in her body? Sure. bullit’s power malfunction? Maybe he’d have been so concerned about a sudden attack by a torso and a beaten romance novel cover model on the ground under his feet that he’d keep his power on. Maybe he’d have been coherent enough to concentrate on it during his “invincible” rant. But to offend the nicest guy I know’s work, so obviously and maliciously over the most ridiculous details and call “bullshit” is….sad, and insecure. i actually feel bad for you that you have to lash out like that to feel good about yourself. Maybe you’re a writer and this helped to justify your own silly ideas.
One can never know for sure. but one thing i do know, Chaotik. (with a k). Is that you’re a very creative guy. I know this because you put the number of times you’ve been rejected for sex beside your name when plain old Chaotik (with a k) was taken.
I have to agree with Rove and Ryan, and if I’ve seemed disrespectful or, worse, borne any resemblance to Chaotik, I’m not proud of it. It’s a point well-taken that the entire strip is free entertainment — oh, wait, I forgot that Chaotik’s paying for it all, so we should all bow down and do homage.
haha oh Chaotik. I only spanked you to defend my friend Ryan, and the work that we’ve built over the last two years. I imagine if you had a friend, or a body of work you’d do the same. I don’t go to your work and announce over the intercom that Chaotik73 is smelly and bagged my groceries wrong. Also you had it coming because your comments were mean spirited and offensive. its fine to say you dont agree with something or point out a fault constructively, but you were a dick about it. Now hopefully you’ve learned your lesson, and can go for #75 in peace.
and thanks for the continued support FrankNW. It’s all about intention. There have been criticisms on the book in the past and the were welcomed and explained/accepted. Its about why and how you say things sometimes and if it’s coming from a place of hate and not love we don’t have time for you here. also Rove will punish you with a sharp tongue lashing.
But seriously FrankNW, we really appreciate you and the fans like you, you comment and read and enjoy and are as much a part of the book as we are. And I personally like that the book may be scrutinized at points because it shows you’re invested in the story and the world. its only a bad thing when mean spirited.
Ugh, all right everyone. I don’t like any of this. It’s apparent we all love comics and only want to have good experiences, so let’s all just focus on that.
My apologies for letting this get out of hand; I love and thank each and every reader, period.
The party bus is leaving soon, so let’s all share some high-fives and move on.
Bullit may not think much of most of the team, but he can’t stop gushing over Zombie.
Wow! Now this is a story I can sink my teeth into.
Woah, zombie, wow.
…Guy sure can bleed, can’t he? Heh…”gushing”.
Damn, that Bullit sure is a pain in the neck.
I guess Bullit’s always gonna be a little wet behind the ears, a pity he’s gone and lost all his colour over a little blood.
I can almost guarantee that zombie’s next, if not due to proximity but also due to his jaw of jugular disruption.
Cmon guys, zombie apocalypse 101. Bullits don’t work so well unless you’ve got great aim.
Oh, that’s easy, she’s being lifted by bees.

riiiiiiiiight.

That’s what makes it such great fiction. “She’s being lifted by bees”. Heh.
I mean, for this strip, if it works, it works. (Ahem.) According to the writing, of course.
(Heh. I still think it’s a little funny.)

I think you just took the bite out of that argument there Ryan…
That one was too wide open to ignore!

no offence.
Might as well rack up the comment count while I’m here too.
Beyatch.
my compliments on your living up to the root word of the term “fan”
perhaps ryan will give you a cookie.
